Jets WR Garrett Wilson ‘shocked’ by trades but trusting front office: ‘I don’t get paid to have a vision’
Jets coach Aaron Glenn and general manager Darren Maugy are paid to present a vision of what a winning football club should look like. Clearly, after a 1-7 start, they couldn’t see a path forward as they currently stand. The hope is that future assets—including three additional first-rounders over the next two years—will give Gang Green the foundation to turn things around.

For Wilson, seeing his teammates, especially Gardner, leave was extremely difficult. The two were drafted together, won the Offensive Player of the Year award together, and signed new contract extensions within a day of each other this offseason. Now they’re no longer connected.
“My feelings, like that aspect of it, I hate it, I hate it, you know what I’m saying?” Wilson said. “I play football. I play with my brothers. I know my brothers. I hate it, but I get paid to play football. Whether I hate it or not, nobody cares. Go catch the ball. You know what I’m saying? That’s the way I look at it.”
Garrett hasn’t caught a pass since Week 7, having missed the last two games due to a knee injury. He’s been limited in practice this week.
