Brodie Kostecki secured pole position in Saturday’s Shootout
The 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000 will start at 11:45 am AEDT
The Shell V-Power Racing team’s protest at the Repco Bathurst 1000 has been dismissed.
The protest comes after Kostecki broke the Generation 3 qualifying lap record in qualifying at Mount Panorama on Friday.
Despite his speed, Kostecki was demanding changes before race day to improve the Ford package’s chances.
DJR filed a protest on Saturday morning. Following this, Motorsport Australia summoned representatives from DJR and Supercars to a stewards’ hearing before the Shootout.
According to the stewards’ report: “The subject of this protest is the lack of fairness in the judging process and the failure to implement engine parity adjustments at the 2025 Repco Bathurst 1000, resulting in a known disparity in the performance of Ford and GM engines.”
Following Saturday’s Boost Mobile Top Ten Shootout, the stewards announced that the protest had been dismissed.
According to the report, the protest was deemed “inadmissible” because the relief sought by DJR was “beyond the powers of the stewards,” and “for this reason alone, the protest is considered inadmissible.”
Supercars return to the track at 8:30 a.m. AEDT on Sunday for a 20-minute warm-up before the race begins at 11:45 a.m.
