According to a report from ESPN’s Shams Charania, the Houston Rockets have agreed to a two-year, $90 million contract extension with forward Kevin Durant. The deal reportedly includes a player option for the 2027-28 season.
A 15-time All-Star and 11-time All-NBA selection, Durant joined the Rockets this summer as part of a historic seven-team trade that also saw Jalen Green, Dillon Brooks, and select players go to the Phoenix Suns.

The 37-year-old former MVP averaged 26.6 points, 6.0 rebounds, and 4.2 assists for the Suns last season, while shooting 52.7% from the field and 43.0% from 3-point range.
The Rockets have signed Durant for the next two seasons, adding him to a young team featuring rising stars like Alperen Sengun and Amen Thompson. They are looking to build on a campaign that saw them finish second in the Western Conference.
Houston will open its season on Tuesday night against the defending NBA champion Oklahoma City Thunder (7:30 p.m. ET, NBC and Peacock).
