NFL Week 8 predictions by Microsoft Copilot AI for every game
The seventh week of the 2025 NFL season went almost exactly as predicted by Microsoft’s CoPilot AI.
CoPilot’s team selections for Week 7 were an incredible 13-2. Its only mistakes were picking the Pittsburgh Steelers to defeat the Cincinnati Bengals on “Thursday Night Football” earlier in the week and the Washington Chiefs to face the Dallas Cowboys in Sunday’s final game.

In addition to the direct results, CoPilot accurately predicted the number of points the Kansas City Chiefs would score (31) and the number of points the New England Patriots would limit the Tennessee Titans to (13).
CoPilot will look to continue its strong performance in Week 8, as USA TODAY Sports continues its experiment using an AI chatbot to predict the outcome of every NFL match.
As always, USA TODAY Sports followed a simple process for CoPilot’s team selections. The AI chatbot was asked to pick a winner and provide scores for all 13 matches of NFL Week 8. The basic format of the query used to generate the results was as follows:
Expert MLB Daily Picks: Unique MLB betting information only on USA TODAY
Can you predict the winner and score of the Los Angeles Chargers vs. Minnesota Vikings NFL Week 8 match?
This process was then repeated for all NFL Week 8 matches, changing the appropriate matches for each additional signal.
CoPilot was generally able to interpret the signals without any problems. However, sometimes, the chatbot provided outdated or incorrect information, especially when assessing injured players in the NFL. This was not a major surprise, as some large language models (LLMs) struggle to keep up with the latest sports news and updates.
When CoPilot showed these errors, the chatbot was simply asked to correct the errors and re-evaluate.
Below is a summary of CoPilot’s picks for Week 8, along with a brief, human-generated analysis of each chatbot’s answer.
NFL Week 8 Picks: AI Predicts Scores for Each Game
CoPilot’s Week 7 Results: 13-2
CoPilot’s 2025 Season Record: 67-40-1
Los Angeles Chargers 27, Minnesota Vikings 24
AI’s Opinion: CoPilot expects a high-scoring game, as the Chargers and Vikings have “porous defenses” that both Justin Herbert and Carson Wentz can exploit through the air. The chatbot is giving the Chargers the home advantage due to “Herbert’s ability to exploit a weak secondary.”
Our Opinion: Do the Vikings really have a weak secondary? Yes, they had a bit of a rough game against the Eagles last week, but Brian Flores’ team ranks second in defensive EPA allowed per passing play this season. This could allow the Vikings to slow down the Chargers’ Herbert-led offense and limit Los Angeles better than Copilot expects.
Atlanta Falcons 27, Miami Dolphins 13
AI’s Opinion: Copilot believes the Falcons’ offense is the “perfect matchup” against the weak Dolphins’ run defense. He expects Bijan Robinson to play well and Atlanta’s pass defense to “neutralize” the struggling Tua Tagovailoa.
Our Opinion: The Dolphins have allowed the most yards to running backs in the league this season, 898, so Robinson and Tyler Allgeier could perform well. Meanwhile, Tagovailoa has completed only 60% of his passes in his last two games, for 305 yards, one touchdown, and six interceptions, so beating Miami seems like a great recommendation from CoPilot.
Cincinnati Bengals 26, New York Jets 16
AI’s Opinion: Amid quarterback uncertainty, CoPilot didn’t want to support the Jets’ offense, which it described as “extremely poor.” Instead, it’s backing Joe Flacco, whose chemistry with Ja’Marr Chase and Tee Higgins impressed the chatbot in Week 7 of “TNF.”
Our Opinion: If Tyrod Taylor gets the chance to start in place of Justin Fields, the Jets could perform better against the weak Bengals defense. But that might not be a wise bet, especially as Flacco is becoming more comfortable with Cincinnati’s offense.
New England Patriots 23, Cleveland Browns 17
AI’s Opinion: Co-Pilot expects “a physical, time-control game” between the Patriots and Browns. The chatbot likes both defenses, noting that the Patriots have allowed 20 or fewer points in four consecutive games, while the Browns allowed just six points to the Dolphins last week. This favors the Patriots because Drake May has shown “composure” during New England’s four-game winning streak.
Our Opinion: Mike Vrabel will develop a strong defensive strategy that could challenge Dillon Gabriel, who averages just 175.7 passing yards per game. This may not be as close as Co-Pilot predicts.
Philadelphia Eagles 27, New York Giants 20
AI’s Opinion: Co-Pilot believes the Eagles will face the Giants in “Week 6.”
