Bills Monday Night Football Week 6 doubleheader: Inactives, news, live updates as Bills face Falcons, Bears take on Commanders to close out Week 6 US NFL

Buffalo is recovering from its first loss of the season, while Atlanta is looking for its third win of the season, returning from its bye week. Chicago also had a fifth week of rest, and the Chargers are aiming to build on last week’s big win against the Los Angeles Chargers.

Buffalo lost a tough 23-20 game to division rival New England in Week 5. The Bills now have a 4-1 record and will face the 2-2 Falcons for the first time since 2022. That matchup took place in Buffalo, where the Bills won 29-15. Currently, their two-game winning streak against Atlanta continues, dating back to 2017.  The Falcons defeated the Commanders 34-27 before the bye week, and they need to continue that momentum to stay tied with division-leading Tampa Bay’s 4-1 record atop the NFC South. Falcons quarterback Michael Penix Jr. had a stellar performance against the Commanders, passing for 313 yards on 20 of 26 passes, including two touchdowns and one interception.

After losing to the Patriots last week, the Bills hold a one-game lead in the AFC East and need to make a difference. Bills quarterback Josh Allen performed well against the Patriots, completing 22 of 31 passes for 253 yards, two touchdowns, and one interception. Allen also led the team in rushing with 53 yards, but it wasn’t enough against the Mike Vrabel-coached Pats.  Despite this decline, Buffalo remains atop the AFC (along with Indianapolis and Jacksonville) and is hoping to return to winning ways in Week 6.

Washington delivered a stellar performance in Week 5, defeating the Chargers 27-10. Their defense performed brilliantly, limiting Chargers quarterback Justin Herbert to 166 yards passing and one touchdown. Washington also sacked Herbert once and sacked him four times. Jayden Daniels didn’t have a great performance, but he performed well in his first game back from injury, passing for 231 yards and one touchdown, and completing nearly 58 percent of his passes. Now, they must replicate that performance at home against the Bears to stay in the NFC East race.

For the Bears, they’ve won two straight and beaten Las Vegas and Dallas in consecutive weeks before the Week 5 bye. In the past two games for Chicago, quarterback Caleb Williams is looking more comfortable in head coach Ben Johnson’s offense. He completed 41 of 65 pass attempts for 510 yards and five touchdowns to just one interception combined against the Raiders and Cowboys. Now the Bears hope to extend that winning streak to three against the Commanders to stay afloat in a tight NFC North.
