Michigan State football injury report vs UCLA: List of injured Spartans keeps growing US NFL Report Today

EAST LANSING – A week after Michigan State football’s defense finally found a rhythm in getting to an opposing quarterback, the Spartans will be missing two of their key edge rushers and two starters in the secondary against UCLA and Nico Iamaleava.

Jalen Thompson and Anelu Lafaele are out for MSU’s homecoming game against the Bruins on Saturday, Oct. 11 (noon/BTN). The Spartans also will continue to be without safety Nikai Martinez and nickelback Ade Willie for the second straight game after both missed last week’s 38-27 loss at Nebraska.

Lafaele was seen on crutches and in a boot covering his lower left leg on the field after the Huskers game. The redshirt freshman, a Wisconsin transfer, posted a picture to his Instagram on Friday from a hospital bed with a bandaged left foot. MSU confirmed Lafaele will miss the rest of the season.

Tight ends Brennan Parachek and Jayden Savoury also are out for MSU (3-2, 0-2 Big Ten) against the Bruins (1-4, 1-1). The Spartans also remain without starting left tackle Stanton Ramil, wide receiver/kick returner Alante Brown and linebacker Marcellius Pulliam, among others.

This will be MSU’s first noon home game since a win over Nebraska on Nov. 4, 2023 and just the third in the past three seasons.
