Texas A&M on Upset Alert at Halftime vs. Arkansas, a 7-0 record on the season,
The Texas A&M Aggies are looking to continue their dominance and post a 7-0 record on the season, but they face a rival, the Arkansas Razorbacks, who are hoping to halt one of their best starts of the decade.
However, this rivalry is particularly exciting, as this will be the first time the two teams will face off on campus since 2014. Unfortunately for the Aggies, they will have to take the field first, but that shouldn’t deter them, as they have already traveled to South Bend to defeat the Notre Dame Fighting Irish this season.

However, the Aggies were unimpressed by the location of the match. They had a strong first half, powered by their offense and a defense that could bend but not break.
After Le’Veon Moss was sidelined for an extended period due to an undisclosed injury, there were many questions about how the Aggies would respond this week, but Reuben Owens proved he was ready for the starting running back role. Averaging just over four yards per carry on five rushing attempts for 23 yards, the Aggies’ offense picked up right where they left off.
Quarterback Marcel Reed threw 5-of-6 passes for 67 yards, and threw a 24-yard strike to Ashton Bethel-Roman for the game’s first touchdown. This was a response after the Razorbacks dominated the field and had to settle for a field goal for the game’s first points.
Second Quarter Concerns
The Aggies continued their offensive success, this time with Reed scoring a rushing touchdown himself. However, after Taylen Green was injured and exited the game after being tackled awkwardly, they found some new strength on defense. The Razorbacks had to settle for another field goal.
The Aggies continued their methodical drive down the field, a 14-play, 75-yard drive that took 7:45 off the clock and resulted in a touchdown reception from Reed to Nate Boerkircher, giving the Aggies a 21-6 lead. However, the defense struggled, especially in stopping Green, who rushed for a touchdown from 27 yards, increasing the Aggies’ lead to 21-13.
After heavy pressure from their defense, the Razorbacks held the Aggies to a three-and-out, forcing them to punt with less than a minute remaining. The Aggies continued to struggle with the run in the contest, allowing over 200 yards on the ground, including one to Mike Washington in the first half.
As time expired in the first half, the defense allowed a touchdown to O’Mega Blake on a reception, and the Aggies went into halftime with a 21-20 win, where they began to find answers on defense.
